Online Backup V’s Traditional Backup

Of course backing up is nothing new. There are a number of options out there which will allow you to back up your data, back up tapes, disks, Zip disks and a variety of backup software to work with them.

However these options have many down sides:

In most cases the data backed up is not encrypted and could therefore be read and copied by anyone, stolen by staff members etc.
Onsite backup means that your backup is kept beside your original files, in the event of theft, fire, water damage etc this effectively means that both your files, and there backup will be destroyed.
