Barcodes, RFID fobs and sensors

Redkey Technology have provided many solutions using Barcode and RFID readers for a wide range of uses. While barcodes have become popular for retail point of sale use, they can and have also been used for many more purposes. Essentially a barcode can be used to identify any object. It may be a box a warehouse, a patient in a hospital ward, a paper docket in an inbox tray or a waste bin beside a refuse collection truck. Barcodes can be used for quickly identifying an object and retrieving the database record for it.

RFID is a newer technology and we've already all been using it for a few years. Similarly to barcodes, RFID is just another way for us to quickly scan and identify and object. Places you would have already used it might have been the Toll Card reader on the motor ways which bleep as you drive by, or the swipe card that opens the door in your office, or the contactless key that starts your car.
